The Carnevale di Striano 2027 already has its protagonists. On Sunday 25 October 2026, at the Villaggio delle Zucche set up in the Villa Comunale, theAssociazione Carnevale Strianese presented the sketches of the four allegorical floats with which the town's districts will take to the streets in the next edition. For now they are pencil and colour; soon, in the float workshops, they will begin to take shape.
A celebration of districts
In Striano, in the heart of the Vesuvius area, the Carnival is above all a contest between districts (rioni): each neighbourhood chooses its theme, entrusts it first to paper and then to papier-mâché, and brings its own float to the parade. A community celebration that also has a symbolic mask, Histriano, and that involves the whole town.
The 2027 floats
Here are the four sketches in the order in which they were presented, with the district behind each project. The descriptions tell what the drawings show: the rest we will discover on the streets.
SanD10s
A saint with a familiar face, wearing a bishop's mitre, halo and crosier, wears the light-blue shirt with the number 10: impossible not to think of Maradona. At his feet a host of cherubs, among the clouds, forms his procession.
Siamo tutti matti
We enter Wonderland: at the top the Mad Hatter with his green top hat, below him the grinning Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit and the playing cards. Alice, in the centre, welcomes us on a black-and-white chessboard.
Mantra
Rione Arco looks to India: Shiva, with trident and drum, and Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, sit on top of an ancient stone temple. In front, standing guard, a gigantic scorpion.
Italia alla deriva: La morsa del caro vita
A fisherman rows hard to keep his boat afloat among the waves, while a purple octopus squeezes it in its tentacles. Above him flies the Italian tricolour, hung from two lifebuoys: the satire on the cost of living is served.
2027 dates
The parade dates of the Carnevale di Striano 2027 have not been announced yet: we will add them as soon as the organisers give official confirmation. In the meantime, all the dates already fixed are in the 2027 carnival calendar.
