The Carnevale di Fano 2027 is starting to take shape. On the official Instagram profile @carnevaledifano the sketches were unveiled for the four new floats, all of them first-category, «ready to go from sketch to papier-mâché and turn Viale Gramsci into a journey through history, music, sport and irony».
«Bello da vedere, dolce da gustare dal 1347» (Lovely to look at, sweet to taste since 1347)
This is the motto that accompanies the logo of the Carnevale di Fano and sums up the spirit of the festival well: the great papier-mâché floats to admire along Viale Gramsci and a tradition that the people of Fano trace back to 1347.
The Pupo dedicated to Vitruvius
Alongside the floats, in 2027 too the Pupo returns to centre stage, with a new creation dedicated to Vitruvio and to the discovery of his Basilica, which takes the town back to its Roman roots.

Veni, vidi, Vitruvio – La storia va in vacanza
Associazione Carnival Factory · float master builder Daniele Mancini Palamoni, idea and sketch by Gianluca Isotti. A tribute to Fano and its identity, inspired by the recent discovery of the Basilica of Vitruvius. At the centre is Marco Vitruvio Pollione himself, with a laurel wreath and the treatise «De Architectura» in his hand, on a Roman-style base between columns and the sign «Civitas Vitruvii». Around him are the symbols of the town past and present: from the roots of Fanum Fortunae to the Carnival, from the Fano Jazz saxophonist to the mermaid reading «Passaggi» (the Passaggi Festival), all the way to the fish of the Brodetto and the Moretta fanese. A «lively and ironic allegorical tale, where past and present meet».

Associazione Carnival Factory · by Luca Vassilich. In the drawing, a girl with a fuchsia bob and a crown of pointed rays has her face crossed by a large lens; behind her are skyscrapers made of speakers and screens, on either side two robotic hands and two rotary telephones, and below a fuchsia grid dance floor.
Montagne Verdi
Associazione Fantagruel · by Mauro Chiappa, with the collaboration of Paolo Furlani. In the drawing, two towers of wads of green banknotes frame a scene entirely themed on tennis: in the centre a red-curled figure wearing a crown sits on a throne, on either side two tennis players with rackets, and at the top a large trophy with three winged figures, among giant tennis balls.
Fake
Associazione Gommapiuma per caso · by Valeria Guerra. In the drawing, a furry rainbow-coloured puppet giving a thumbs-up sits on a column with an Ionic capital next to a mountain of chocolate and icing with sprinkles, topped by a small tower. Around it are other little puppets, lollipops, candy canes and pink clouds.
2027 dates
The parades of the Carnevale di Fano 2027 are scheduled for Sunday 31 January, Sunday 7 and Sunday 14 February 2027. All the year's events are in the 2027 carnival calendar.
